Traditional Names, Appalachian and Otherwise

Have you ever noticed that no one is named after a flower or a gem anymore?? I am interested in names that are dying out, especially Appalachian old-timey ones. If I ever had a kid, I'm going to burden them with an obscure name! If you can think of any names to add to my list, please do so.

Off the top of my head:

Opal

Jewel

Ruby

Rose

Daisy

Violet

Cora

Alma

Pauline

Otis

Jesse

Ray

Delbert

Earl

Charlotte

Gladys

Eunice

Darlene

Cinder (a man's name)

Beecher (also a man's name)

Lotus (this could be a man's or a woman's name)

Well, you get the picture. I often check the obituaries and write new names on a list I have in one of my sketch books. Any additions, folks??
